Frequently Asked Questions

Please Also Read The Ordering & Terms below Before Ordering so there is no confusion, Thank you.

.What does a Cake / Confections Cost?

The cost of your cake will depend on the complexity and amount of decoration required, the time involved, the size, shape and number of tiers. Your quote will be valid for 48 hours. Bookings made for more than 12 months in advance may be subject to a price increase should costs out of our control increase. Prices are not negotiable however alternatives will be offered to meet your budget, please note the minimum charges as stated above.

How do I Pay / Deposit?

A non - refundable 50 % deposit of the total cost is required to secure the commission of your cake or confections.

Orders will not be deemed booked / accepted until this is received which must be done within 48 hours of acceptance, if not the date will be released and may no longer be available after that time. You can pay in full if you prefer.

The balance of payment is due two weeks prior to the delivery / collection. PLEASE NOTE - It is up to you to pay this on time no reminder will be given. Customers find it helpful to set up an automatic online payment for this to avoid forgetting. Should this not be paid on the due date your order will be deemed cancelled and the deposit forfeited.

If the collection date is less than two weeks away full payment is required to place the order.

How Far in Advance Should I Order?

It’s never too soon to order to ensure the date you require is reserved. Availability changes almost daily. Fridays and Saturdays get booked first. Please try to order as far ahead as possible. You must order for the COLLECTION date required which should be as close to the serving time as possible to ensure maximum freshness and stability of the decorations. This is especially important for tiered cakes as I cannot guarantee their stability after transportation. Dates will be allocated on a first come first served basis. I may be able to take an order closer to the date depending on my availability. Dates are held for 48 hours upon which the date will be released if a payment has not been made. If you know the date but not the design yet you can reserve the date with £25 pre deposit for cakes and confections or £50 for a wedding cake. This will of course be deducted from the cost of your cake. Upon the design and final price being agreed the remaining deposit or payment in full whichever the case must be paid. For orders more than One year in advance an Estimate will be provided as we cannot foresee increases beyond our control i.e., ingredient's, materials, electric, water, petrol etc. We will however aim to keep to the original estimate as far as possible.

Can You Decorate / Use My Own Cake or just supply a fondant Cake Topper?

Sorry we do not decorate / handle any items not made by Couture or make Toppers only.

Can I Use Fresh or Silk Flowers to Decorate My Cake?

Yes, but please note some fresh flowers are poisonous and not recommended for use on cakes. We accept no responsibility if you choose to place them on the cake or for any damage caused to the cake. If you require matching flowers for an occasion you must provide these a minimum of 24 hours before collection / delivery.

Chocolate and Buttercream Covered Cakes

We recommend caution if you are considering a cake decorated with chocolate or buttercream. We cannot accept responsibility for any movement / melting of the cake once it has left our possession.

Which Size Cake Do I Need?

The cake serving guide is for guidance

only as it depends on how the person

cuts the cake. Square cakes will provide a few

more servings.

If you want a larger centre piece for

your event but do not need so many

servings dummy cakes can be iced and

included in the design.

(Please note this reduces the cost of

the cake by very little)

. How do I transport my cake and confections?

Leave plenty of room for your cake as the box will be larger than the cake. It is advised you carry it with both hands’ underneath & transport items flat in an empty boot or foot well on a nonslip mat with cushioning around the packaging.

Do not place on your knee or a seat. Drive carefully especially with tiered cakes, it is not recommended that a cake over two tiers is transported stacked. We accept no responsibility for items once they have left our premises.

Non-Edible Items

Some cakes may contain small proportions of inedible items; it is the customers responsibility to ensure these are removed before consumption. E.g. support dowels, cocktail sticks, cake boards, structures, ribbon, wire, crystals, flower picks, flower tape etc. This will be brought to your attention on collection / delivery.

Food Allergies, Storage & Shelf Life

Sorry I do not provide bakes for special dietary requirements.  All products are made in a kitchen that handles nuts, gluten, dairy, eggs & soya, therefore items may contain traces. Full allergie advice will be in the cake box.
